Make your own $30 menu at top restaurants

Now that another Restaurant Week has come and gone, many local eaters are waiting until the next edition to schedule their fancy nights out. But diners can manage $30 tabs even without the assistance of a prix fixe menu: Here, a sampling of what $30 buys at a few of the city’s most popular higher-end spots -- when they’re not overwhelmed by deal-seekers (and the list doesn’t even include The Ordinary, which nightly serves a salad, entrée and dessert for $35.)

Because restaurants change their menus frequently, it’s entirely possible you won’t be able to replicate the exact meals outlined here, featuring dish descriptions drawn directly from the restaurants’ websites. And it’s worth noting that most of these restaurants don’t even try to compete in the $30 category during Restaurant Week, so if the suggested dinner seems puny, toss in another 10 bucks for a salad. Finally, just like during Restaurant Week, tax and tip are not included.
