Farm-To-Table: Woodlands Inn hosts its second outdoor Farm-to-Table Dinner today for $55 per person. The three-course dinner, held in conjunction with Legare Farms on Johns Island, begins at 6:30 p.m. in Woodlands' herb garden. The farmer introduces each course and explains the "roots" of the dish and the significance. Local and regional wines will be paired with each course. Sustainable Seafood: Coast Bar & Grill is hosting the next Sustainable Seafood Initiative dinner at 7 p.m. May 20. Executive chef David Pell will prepare a four-course meal highlighting local fare and sustainable seafood. $55, excluding tax and gratuity, with 10 percent of proceeds going to the Sustainable Seafood Initiative at the S.C. Tea room: Second Presbyterian Church, 342 Meeting St., will host its fifth annual Tea Room on May 28-29 and June 4-5. Hours are 11 a.m.-2 p.m. with takeout available. Call 723-2662 for takeout orders.
The menu includes soups, salads, a salad plate, quiche, sandwiches, and homemade desserts.
Live music during the Tea Room will be provided by The Limes and The Coconuts.
The church's cookbook, homemade jams, jellies and other foods also will be for sale. Parking is available in the church's back parking lot.
All profits from the Tea Room go directly to the missions of the church, most of which are local entities.
