Wellness cooking

What: Roper St. Francis Cancer Care will kick off its fall cooking class season with Cook Your Way to Wellness. The classes are centered on the concept that certain foods can help prevent illness, such as cancer, and teaches participants how to prepare meals that can keep them well. The "Healthy Meat & Dairy Alternatives" class will be offered Nov. 3. Registration is required.

Art and chefs event

What: Art on the Beach & Chefs in the Kitchen. Spend the after- noon touring private homes on Sullivan's Island, enjoying or purchasing local artwork and sampling dishes from top area chefs. A reception will follow at Station 22 Restaurant from 5-6 p.m. The house tour is about a four-mile loop beginning at Sandpiper Gallery. The route is bicycle friendly; limited golf-cart ride tickets also will be offered for an extra charge.

Beer Dinner

What: Queen Anne's Revenge will hold a five-course dinner paired with four of Stone Brewing Co.'s finest brews. Reception at 6:30 p.m. will be followed by a dinner on the patio at 7 p.m. The menu will focus on the changing of the seasons and the fall/winter flavors of Charleston, including oysters, pork ribs and more.
