Herbal Passion

What’s that? Hannah Weber describes her two-year-old shop as a community apothecary, where she doles out medicinal herbs, mushrooms and tea blends “to spread awareness about all of the amazing natural options Mother Nature provides us.” A Chicago native who as a child adored Celestial Seasonings tea and incense, Weber studied at the Medical University of South Carolina and Gaiananda School of Herbal Studies.

In addition to selling spices and superfoods in bulk, Weber “make(s) custom herbal tea blends that are specific to different issues or ailments people may have. The fall-asleep and stay-asleep blends are very popular, as are my liver cleanse and ‘spring cleaning’ blend for detox.”

Who recommends it? Emily Phillips, co-owner of Dalai Sophia Kombucha

Why? As you may recall from last week, Phillips is big on the potential health benefits of fermented beverages: She relies on Weber to help her select the right flavoring spices and herbs. “Hannah has also provided amazing custom blended teas,” Phillips says. “Her small shop might be missed by passers-by, but offers an incredible selection.”

Where is it? Herbal Passion, 845-1B Savannah Highway, is open Tuesday-Friday, 1-7 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. For more information, visit herbalpassionsc.com
