Italian chef Massimiliano Sarrocchi, chef-owner of Osteria La Bottiglia on King Street, will lead a small group tour to his homeland Sept. 9-17.
The first six days and nights will be spent in a fully remodeled 12th-century convent set amid the vineyards and olive groves of the Tuscan hills.
Guests will travel to local vineyards and historical landmarks and learn about the regional culinary traditions of Tuscany, including grilled meats and game, mushrooms, wine and more.
Throughout the week, guests also will be invited to participate in the preparation of occasional meals with an informal instruction led by Sarrocchi.
The trip will include visits to some of the smaller, antiquated hilltop cities such as Pienza, Montalcino and San Gimignano, along with the historical and cultural centers of Florence and Siena.
The trip concludes with two days and nights in Rome at a hotel in the historic center with views of the ancient Forum.
