Chef Robert Carter's recent attempt to lease the former Momma Brown's Barbeque location in Mount Pleasant fell through, but Carter doesn't plan to be out of the action for long.
The former high-profile chef of Peninsula Grill says he has some other irons in the fire following 14 years at the downtown restaurant and a six-month sabbatical with family and friends. In the meantime, he is making a special guest chef appearance today through Saturday at Atlanticville on Sullivan's Island.
"I'm excited," says Carter. "Atlanticville is one of my favorite restaurants outside of downtown for its laid-back atmosphere and quality food. Sullivan's Island is such an oasis."
"Thankfully, I didn't have to twist his arm for very long," says Atlanticville owner Brad Creger. "He's going to need both arms, as we expect to be very busy."
