The owners of one of Charleston’s top destination breweries are adding a second location on Folly Beach.

Known for beers like Poke the Bear and Lefty Loosey, Revelry Brewing Co. will open its Folly Beach outpost at 13B Center St. next door to The Bounty Bar this year.

Revelry Brewing Co. started serving downtown Charleston at 10 Conroy St. in 2014. Its popularity has grown in the years since, as brewery-goers flock to the downtown Charleston spot for its refreshing craft beers and rooftop sunset views. Ownership previously operated an affiliated taproom specializing in sour and wild barrel-aged beer called The Hold before shutting it down in June 2022.

Owner Sean Fleming said his team has worked for years to open a taproom on Folly Beach. This is due, in part, to Revelry’s vision of further serving the growing community of Charleston craft beer drinkers.

“We think it's time to move back towards our patrons, so to speak, by providing light, approachable beers — perfect for the beach,” Fleming said. “It’s about being accessible and providing good vibes through our product and atmosphere. Folly Beach was an easy choice.”

Believed to be the first brewery to open in a Charleston area beachside community, Revelry Brewing Co. Folly Beach will serve beer on tap for on-premise consumption while also offering a refrigerator stocked with canned and bottled brews patrons can take to-go.

Additional brewery specifics — including an opening date, official name and food vendor — are being kept under wraps for now.
