Does a chance to have your artwork prominently displayed to thousands of people sound appealing? Does $1,000 sweeten the pot?
The BB&T Charleston Wine + Food Festival is calling local artists to enter its 2012 poster competition. The competition is open to adults 18 and older who live in Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties.
All entries must be original works of art and should reflect the culinary culture of Charleston.
"We're looking for something fresh and that has never been done before," said Zach Norris, graphic designer for the festival, set for March 1-4.
With 2012 being the festival's seventh year, Norris suggests elements of lucky number 7 "would be fun to incorporate."
The winner claims the cash prize and the title of Official Poster Artist. The design will be featured on festival merchandise and showcased in storefronts across the Lowcountry.
Applications are due by Sept. 16 and are available at www.charlestonwineandfood.com.
