A West Ashley family of seven was displaced after an Easter night fire. Charleston and St. Andrews fire departments responded to the fire, which broke out just before midnight.
“It appeared it started in the utility room,” said Mark Ruppel, Charleston Fire Department public information officer. “Moderate damage. No injuries.”
The American Red Cross Carolina Lowcountry chapter is assisting the family with temporary lodging, food and clothing. To help, contact the chapter at 843-764-2323, ext. 368 or LowcountryRedCross.org.
