COLUMBIA — Filmmakers are in South Carolina looking for a 10- to 13-year-old boy who can swim well to be in a movie about a dolphin who gets a prosthetic tail.

Shannon Cain of The Casting Office in Wilmington, N.C., says in a news release that an open casting call will be held on Thursday at Saluda Shoals Park in Columbia.

Shooting is scheduled to begin in Florida in late September and is based on the story of a dolphin named Winter who got a prosthetic tail after an injury.

The film stars Morgan Freeman, Harry Connick Jr. and Ashley Judd as well as the real Winter. The role filmmakers are hoping to cast is for the 11-year-old boy who befriends the injured dolphin and helps her get a new tail.
