COLUMBIA — Federal agents are still looking for seven South Carolina men wanted in connection with a massive drug and weapon sweep that netted about 100 people earlier this year.

The FBI said Tuesday that Lloyd T. Bennett Jr., Leroy Goodwin, Toby K. Hamm, David D. Johnson, Anthony D. Peterkin, Jerome A. Thompson and Pasante Trapp are wanted for illegal flight to avoid prosecution on drug and weapons violations.

Prosecutors said the 100 men rounded up in August were tied to Mexican drug suppliers connected to cells of drug dealers in the Southeast.

FBI Special Agent in Charge Dave Thomas called the operation one of the largest gang investigations ever undertaken by federal and state officials in South Carolina.
