PBS is unfurling the flags for its "Capitol Fourth" extravaganza this year, which marks its 30th anniversary celebrating the nation's Fourth of July.

Jimmy Smits will host and Reba McEntire is accepting the National Artistic Achievement Award.

The festivities will end with a fireworks show.

Darius Rucker, the National Symphony Orchestra, "American Idol" runner-up David Archuleta and Gladys Knight will perform.

"A Capitol Fourth" will be broadcast live from the West Lawn of the Capitol at 8 p.m. on PBS stations.
