"Black Beauty," the electric guitar designed and played by Les Paul that became the prototype for all Gibson-produced Les Paul models, is going on the auction block on Feb. 19 in New York City.

LONDON - Jack O'Connell, who played American athlete and war survivor Louis Zamperini in Angelina Jolie's "Unbroken," has been nominated for a Rising Star award by Britain's film academy.

The 24-year-old English actor, is one of five performers shortlisted for the BAFTA Rising Star award.

Other contenders are Gugu Mbatha-Raw, star of "Belle," Australian actress Margo Robbie and two Americans, "Whiplash" star Miles Teller and Shailene Woodley, whose films include "Divergent."

The winner will be decided by public vote and announced at the British Academy Film Awards on Feb. 8.

NEW YORK - The 1954 electric guitar that served as the prototype for Gibson's iconic Les Paul models is going on the auction block.

The Paul-designed guitar known as "Black Beauty" features gold-plated hardware. Paul made frequent modifications as he refined its sound over more than two decades of use.

Guernsey's is offering it Feb. 19 in New York City. The auctioneer calls it the most significant electric guitar ever made.

Paul died in 2009. He gave the instrument to his friend, guitar technician and builder Tom Doyle of Wantage, N.J.

NEW YORK - Dick Van Dyke plans to put his upbeat approach to old age between covers in a new inspirational book.

Weinstein Books announced that the veteran star of screen, stage and TV is calling his guide "Keep Moving, and Other Tips and Truths About Old Age." Publication is planned for the fall, just in time for his 90th birthday in December.

Van Dyke promises he won't sugarcoat anything. Nonetheless, he promises readers there's "a beautiful life waiting for you."

His secret: "Just keeping moving."
