Matt LeBlanc will return to television in January in a role he was born to play: himself.

The new Showtime comedy "Episodes" follows the efforts to make an American version of a hit British series. LeBlanc is cast to star in the American version.

But even with new projects, he hasn't gotten too far away from his days on "Friends." In fact, he was stopped twice on the way to the interview by people who greeted him with Joey's famous line, "How you doin'?"

LeBlanc considers the line a badge of acting honor. "My job is to make you believe what I'm saying, right? That's the actor's job. So if people really believe me as that character, then, in my opinion, I've done my job. So I don't look at it as a negative thing when people ... say, 'Hey, Joey.'
