Registration is underway for "Enthusiastically Episcopalian in South Carolina," an all-day conference that will be held next month in Pawleys Island and feature the Most Rev. Dr. Katharine Jefferts Schori, presiding bishop and primate of The Episcopal Church.

The May 3 event also will feature other national and local church leaders and offer a day of worship, talks and workshops.

The public is invited to attend the opening Eucharist at Holy Cross Faith Memorial Episcopal Church, which Schori will lead. Other addresses will include:

"Connecting to the Wider Church" with the presiding bishop. The Episcopal Church has 2.4 million members in 16 countries and is part of the global Anglican Communion.

"Leadership in Challenging Times" with the Rev. Gay Clark Jennings, president of the House of Deputies.

"Lessons Learned, Lessons Shared" with the Rt. Rev. Kenneth Price Jr., former provisional bishop of the Diocese of Pittsburgh.

"The State of the Diocese" with the Rt. Rev. Charles G. vonRosenberg, bishop of The Episcopal Church in South Carolina.

Two workshops will include Price and a team from the Diocese of Pittsburgh, which has gone through schism and controversy similar to what local Episcopalians have experienced.

The deadline to register is April 15. For more, go to

The conference is sponsored by the Episcopal Forum of South Carolina, a not-for-profit group that supports The Episcopal Church in South Carolina, The Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion primarily through educational offerings.
