On Wednesday, June 17, 2015, everything changed for the congregation at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in downtown Charleston.

The day started with the church's usual quarterly conference and ended in tragedy when a shooter opened fire on a Bible study group that almost didn't meet, killing nine people.
