Police officers in Goose Creek searched for a masked man this morning after they said he robbed a Dollar General store.

Capt. John Grainger, spokesman for the Goose Creek Police Department, said that around 8 a.m., the man forced his way into the location at 205 N. Goose Creek Blvd. as a woman was opening the store for the day. The man, who was wearing a ski mask and a hooded shirt, told the employee to deactivate the burglar alarm.

Grainger said the robber made the worker open a safe, after which he ran away with some cash. The employee told the police that the robber did not show a weapon or say that he had one.

A police dog tracked the masked man for "a short distance before the track went cold," Grainger said.

The police department said it had no further information on the crime.
