COLUMBIA — The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles is closing its offices for an hour on Wednesdays across the state for training.
The offices won’t open until 9:30 a.m. starting this Wednesday.
DMV officials say they will be training their employees on a variety of topics, including spotting fraudulent documents and credentials, procedures to issue titles, vision screening and following agency policies. They say they want to make operations consistent throughout the state.
The DMV says telephone operations will also be unavailable during the training periods, but people can still make some transactions on the agency’s website.
