A crash injured three people and shut down the North Bridge in the North Charleston area this morning.
The wreck was reported after 8 a.m. on the northbound side of Cosgrove Avenue, said Bianca Sancic, spokeswoman for the North Charleston Fire Department.
Firefighters reported that a vehicle had overturned in the middle of the roadway and that they needed about 20 minutes to extricate one person from the vehicle. That person was described as seriously injured.
The patients were transported to Medical University of South Carolina.
The bridge reopened about 8:50 a.m. There were no further details about the crash.
