Colleton police arrest man for Walterboro drive-by shooting

Isaac "Mitch" Sanders

A 24-year-old man was arrested Thursday on charges of attempted murder in connection with a drive-by shooting last month near Walterboro.

The Colleton County Sheriff's Office said Isaac "Mitch" Sanders shot Jasper Farmer, 24, in the leg Dec. 18 on Gadsden Loop. Farmer's mother told deputies that she was talking with her son around 4:30 p.m. when shots were fired from a passing 2001 Toyota Camry in which Sanders was riding.

Investigators said Sanders and Farmer each have a child with the same woman.

Farmer's mother drove Farmer to the hospital.

Deputies later stopped the Camry, but the shooter was no longer in it.

Sanders, a resident of Red Comet Road in Walterboro, turned himself in Thursday at the Colleton County Detention Center. He was expected to go before a judge during a bond hearing this morning.
