Lexus Charleston Fashion Week crowned emerging designer Tygerian Burke during Saturday night’s finale.

Her clothing line, Tygerian Lace, won her the $10,000 grand prize along with other prizes adding up to a value of $40,000. Fern Mallis, creator of New York Fashion Week, called her collection “young Marc Jacobs.”

Joan Madison was the overall people’s choice winner with her sparkly evening wear collection.

The other finalists who showed in Saturday's finale show were:

Kenya Freeman, former "Project Runway" contestant; Kelly Callaway, 12-year-old designer; Patresea Peppers and Emilie Schroeder.

The top model competition chose one male and one female winner on Friday night: Rex Leonard and Mary Crimmins. They were selected by a panel of judges from model agencies in New York City.

In addition to the emerging designers participating in Fashion Week, two featured designers from New York City came to show their collections: Yigal Azrouel and Yeohlee.

For the first time ever, Lexus Charleston Fashion Week had an emerging accessory designer winner in addition to an emerging clothing designer winner, Shelly Lynch of Zinnialou. She did not show on the runway tent, but rather displayed her collection inside the Style Lounge.

The annual five-day event took place under tents in Marion Square and attracted hundreds nightly.
