Southern Living’s Taste of Charleston festival will celebrate its 35th anniversary this weekend.
The event, as usual, features two culinary competitions, an Iron Chef-style challenge on Friday, when chefs from a hospital and a restaurant will face off, and then an invitational the next day when chefs from South Carolina hospitals will compete against each other to be named the 2015 Cooking Well Invitational Winner.
The centerpiece attraction of Taste of Charleston takes place 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Boone Hall Plantation in Mount Pleasant, where top casual and fine dining restaurants will serve sample-size portions, plus beer and wine. Highlights include live music, the popular “Waiters’ Race” and the “Kid’s Kitchen Sideshow.”
