Legendary blues musician Taj Mahal is canceling his performance scheduled at the Charleston Music Hall on Thursday because he’s suffering from a severe case of the flu, according to an announcement released Monday evening.

The musician is on bed rest under his doctor’s orders and “is extremely disappointed not to be able to make the show,” the statement said. The concert has been postponed to Oct. 22 and all tickets sold for the Thursday show will be honored on that date.
