Susto, local indie-rock group, plays in town while on tour with Heartless Bastards

Susto will play with Heartless Bastards at the Music Farm on Tuesday.

Catch local Americana-rock group Susto at the Music Farm on Tuesday as they pass through town on a nationwide tour with the acclaimed Austin, Texas-based act Heartless Bastards.

While Susto has built a dedicated following in Charleston and some surrounding areas over the past two years, this tour is a promising sign that the band has a real shot at breaking out on a national level. Heartless Bastards, a four-piece led by Erika Wennerstrom, also was considered a small-town band when they caught the attention of The Black Keys’ Patrick Carney in the early 2000s. Through the connection, the band was signed to Fat Possum Records and soon released a critically acclaimed debut record.

Susto goes on for an opening set at 9 p.m., followed by Heartless Bastards shortly afterward. Tickets are $15. Visit www.musicfarm.com for more information.
