Start the patriotic celebrations early with party at the Bus Shed

Fireworks on the Cooper River are a staple of Charleston's Independence Day celebrations

In America, we don’t like to cram our celebrations into just one day. Why do you think we’ve added eves to two of our biggest holidays? And we all know those friends who like to stretch their birthday festivities across an entire week, sometimes longer. So it makes sense that Charleston would have a popular Fourth of July Kick-off party a full two days before the holiday. The inaugural event last year drew more than 1,300 people to the Visitor Center Bus Shed. This year, organizers are again expecting a big crowd for the party featuring live music by The Midnight City, classic American cook-out food like hamburgers and hotdogs, and beer provided by Bud Light. If you’re older than 21 and you’re looking for something to rev up your holiday weekend, look no further.
