Traditionally considered the beginning of the Spoleto Festival USA season, Memminger Auditorium will be transformed into a 1920s-era night spot for its 37th annual auction. Dubbed “A Night at the Charleston Club,” the event will include cocktails, a seated dinner, an exclusive performance by the Joe Clarke Big Band and dancing. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to bid in a live and silent auction, with proceeds benefitting the festival’s orchestra-in-residence. An online auction that runs through Feb. 15 also will be offered; find out more at spoletoauction.com. The auction is black-tie optional, with 1920s-themed attire encouraged. The 39th season of Spoleto Festival USA will run May 22-June 7.
