Each year, members of the Law Enforcement Torch Run along with local Special Olympics programs invite the local community to brave the freezing cold waters during their respective Polar Plunge events, which take place from Florida to North Dakota, California to Washington. This weekend, folks are invited out to the Isle of Palms to dive in to the Atlantic Ocean at this fundraiser event. With all proceeds benefitting Special Olympics South Carolina, participants will get to take part in the Plunge Party between registration and the big moment. Open to plungers and spectators of all ages, the party will include food, music, games and door prizes.
When: Saturday, registration begins at 10:30 a.m. with the plunge taking place at 1 p.m.
Where: Front Beach at The Windjammer, 1008 Ocean Blvd., Isle of Palms
