Guyette & Deeter will hold a duck decoy auction featuring more than 200 decoys without reserve ranging from $200 to more than $10,000.

The Southeastern Wildlife Exposition works with a number of organizations to produce a variety of special events throughout the weekend. Unless otherwise noted, order special event tickets in advance at sewe.com or by phone at 723-1748.

What: VIP event. A black-tie event with exotic animals, live auction, wild fare and an open bar held in the Charleston Place Ballroom. Attendees must be 21 or older.

What: “Cooking with Wild Game.” Learn to prepare pickled wild shrimp salad; bourbon glazed quail with bacon cornbread dressing; wild rice pilaf with caramelized leeks and wild mushrooms; duck fat fries with malt vinegar aioli; and pecan thumbprint cookies with balsamic fig jam. What: A special lecture by Jon Deeter, principal at Guyette & Deeter and vintage decoy collector.

What: A reception celebrating the special SEWE exhibit “Visions of Nature.” The exhibit features new, original paintings by Charleston artists Rick Reinert and Kevin LePrince and guest artists Heiner Hertling and Mark Kelso. It presents the individual styles and visions of these four artists and showcases the latest creations in the context of each artist’s diverse career. The exhibit is open daily during SEWE. No ticket required.

What: This event serves dinner and cocktails and offers a silent and live auction. Wear your Sunday best. Tickets are $60 per person, $90 per couple, or reserve a table for your group: $360 for an eight-person table, $450 for a 10-person table. Available at scwa.org or 803-452-6001.

What: Enjoy oysters and a Lowcountry cookout, open bar, music, raffles, and live and silent auctions. Admission also includes a 2015 membership to Ducks Unlimited. What: An investment quality decoy auction held by Guyette & Deeter, offering more than 200 decoys without reserve ranging from $200 to more than $10,000. The auction will consist of mostly Atlantic Coast decoys including examples by Elmer Crowell, the Ward Brothers, Ned Burgess, William Bowman, Ira Hudson, Lee Dudley and Mark McNair. An auction catalog will be available for $20. Previews will be held 3-5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-noon Saturday.
