Party at the Point kicks off spring season this weekend

Departure, a Journey tribute band, will perform at Party at the Point again Friday.

When spring rolls around, there’s rarely a weekend when Patriots Point doesn’t have something going on. Planted right on the edge of town on the Charleston Harbor just a few miles from Waterfront Park, it’s one of the most scenic properties in the Lowcountry, and it’s also one of the few outdoor venues where you can catch a good sea breeze when it’s hot and humid everywhere else. The 15th Party at the Point series returns this weekend to the Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina’s sandy backyard, where bands take the stage every Friday evening to kick off the weekends through the end of June. Beer, wine, spirits and food are sold on-site, making it one of the largest and most popular happy hour parties in the area. This week, Departure, a Journey tribute band, takes the stage. In the coming months, local artists such as Atlas Road Crew, Dead 27s, Blue Dogs, Sol Driven Train and Jordan Igoe will perform.

When: 5:30 p.m. Fridays through June 26

Where: Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina, 20 Patriots Point Road

Price: $7
