North Charleston to launch monthly outdoor concert series this week with The Tams

North Charleston is launching its new Rockin’ the River monthly concert series this week with a live performance by The Tams, a classic beach music band that’s perfect for shagging barefoot on the bank of the Cooper River. Riverfront Park will host the community event with a different band each month, a beer and wine garden and food trucks. Bands scheduled through September include Sgt. Submarine, a Beatles cover band; Bootless, a Southern rock group; and Plane Jane, a longtime Charleston rock band. The free event is organized by the city of North Charleston, the local entertainment agency Ear For Music and the beverage catering company Icebox.

When: Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Thursday
