The Swamp Fox Restaurant will again be serving their Fried Green Tomatoes during Charleston Restaurant Week, set to start Wednesday.

One of the most highly anticipated culinary events in the Charleston area, Restaurant Week offers food fans the opportunity to enjoy prix-fixe menus at participating restaurants. Put on by the Greater Charleston Restaurant Association, more than 100 restaurants will be serving up prix fixe lunch and dinner menus consisting of three items for one price. This event is popular and reservations are highly recommended.

"We Are the World" is getting a Charleston makeover. The charity single, one of the best all-time selling singles, was recorded in 1985 by the supergroup USA for Africa, featuring an all-star lineup of soloists, including Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, Ray Charles, Cyndi Lauper, Kenny Rogers, Tina Turner, Billy Joel, Diana Ross, Bruce Springsteen, Kenny Loggins and Willie Nelson, among others. The Charleston version will see 21 local singers assume a new identity for the evening to pay tribute to "one of the greatest supergroups ever assembled." Each local singer will sing a song from the catalog of the artist they are covering, with the show culminating with "We Are the World." The event benefits the Charleston Animal Society.

When: Sunday, doors open at 7:30 p.m. with the show beginning at 8:30 p.m.

The Crabpot Players is celebrating its upcoming 21st season and the fact that they've found a permanent home in Mount Pleasant with a musical revue fundraiser. Featuring a night of live jazz and songs from the 1920s-1940s, music will be performed by an ensemble of professional vocalists accompanied by the Joe Clarke Quartet and Crabpot Players' performers. In addition to the show, guests will be able to feast on all-you-can-eat local oysters and barbecue while browsing the silent auction items. The money raised through the event will go toward securing their new space.
