MegaDock Billfishing Tournament comes to City Marina for 11th year

The MegaDock Billfishing Tournament is a four-day marlin and sailfish event that starts Wednesday.

Built in 2003 to attract visiting boaters to Charleston, the City Marina's MegaDock comes in at 1,530 feet and is said to have become "Billfishing's grandest arena." Part of the state's Governor's Cup Billfishing Series, sport fishing boats will travel from all over the East Coast to compete for prizes in top billfish release points, heaviest meat fish, youth anglers and lady anglers. Participants can fish two of the three days at the 11th annual Bennett Hospitality MegaDock Billfishing Tournament. Each evening, family, friends and crew are invited to enjoy dinner and drinks at the Historic Rice Mill, served by Bennett Hospitality's Rue de Jean, Michael's on the Alley and Good Food Catering. Sponsors such as Maritime Insurance and the City Boatyard will be on hand each day of the tournament to show off the latest trends in the sport fishing world and answer any questions.
