Drummer Todd Nance to play Home Team BBQ while on Widespread Panic hiatus

Provided.

While on hiatus from his longtime band Widespread Panic, drummer Todd Nance will play two nights on May 15 and 16 with the Dyrty Byrds at Home Team BBQ in West Ashley.

Tickets are $15 and shows start at 10 p.m.

The performances will be a rare chance to see the jam band drummer in an intimate setting after he left Widespread Panic last year for “personal time” before the band’s fall tour. Nance hasn’t returned to the group since, and has instead been playing select dates with the Dyrty Byrds of Colorado.

Duane Trucks, younger brother of guitarist Derek Trucks, has been filling in ever since. Widespread Panic is playing Columbia’s Township Auditorium Tuesday and Wednesday night.
