As kids, the water-related fun can be endless. And not just playing sharks and minnows at the community pool, or body surfing in the waves at the beach. What we really miss out on as adults are those neighborhood slip-and-slide parties, or sneak attacks with water balloons and SuperSoaker water guns.
If any of that makes you feel nostalgic, the Deluge at The Grove this weekend is your kind of party. Described as a combination of the TV shows “Wipe Out” and “American Gladiator,” Deluge offers everything from sprinkler systems and giant water slides to water balloon fights and slip-n-slide races.
There’s also plenty of liquid courage to indulge in at the beer wagons, and food trucks for when all that running and sliding around works up an appetite. The organizers encourage attendees to wear swimsuits, tennis shoes and plenty of sunscreen. Bring the kids, but leave dogs at home.
