Columbia City Ballet brings Jonathan Green’s work to life in ‘Off the Wall’

The paintings of Jonathan Green, such as “Sea Swing Jazz,” will be brought to life by Columbia City Ballet in the production called “Off the Wall.”

Award-winning artist Jonathan Green is known for his use of vibrant colors in his art depicting the Gullah lifestyle in the Lowcountry. His paintings and imagery have been brought to life by Columbia City Ballet in their production called “Off the Wall.” With choreography by William Starett, the company’s troupe of dancers will depict the cultural heritage of the Gullah and Geechee communities set to a combination of traditional work songs, gospel music, Motown and jazz.

When: Saturday, doors open at 4:30 p.m. with the show starting at 5:30 p.m.
