33rd Charlie Post Classic

David Quick/Staff Shortly after crossing the finish line at the Charlie Post Classic 5K, running pals Africo Smalls, 43, of Ladson, and Quontrello Washington, 41, of North Charleston, took a few minutes to rest in the middle of Middle Street. Washington edged his friend Smalls by three seconds, finishing in 19:51.

David Quick/Staff Caitlin Judd Batten, 32, of North Charleston, won the Charlie Post Classic 15K for women with a time of 58:06. The peformance, coming off of her third consecutive win at the Kiawah Island Marathon in December, was good for a 7th place overall finish.

While "Gangnam Style" played over the loudspeakers at McAlister Fieldhouse, David Rann (Citadel, class of 1975) provided the visuals with South Korean pop musician PSY while Rann's wife Elizabeth (center) and Beth Welling laugh along during a timeout in the game with Wofford on Thursday January 31, 2013.
