CHARLESTON — Police arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with two back-to-back armed robberies last month.
Officials say Byron Aaron Minter of James Prioleau Road entered the Yassman Market on Reid Street on Nov. 27, pointed a gun at a clerk and grabbed cash from the register and a package of cigars before fleeing. Police say Minter also held up the Hanover Grocery Store on Columbus Street the next day.
With a gun in hand, Minter pushed a clerk out of the way, grabbed money from the cash register and ran out, according to police. No one was injured in either robbery.
Police arrested Minter on two counts of armed robbery and possession of a firearm in the commission of a violent crime. The investigation continues.
