RAVENEL — A man claiming to have a gun forced a 67-year-old woman into her car Monday and drove off, according to Charleston County sheriff’s officials.

The woman told officials that she had been getting out of her 1996 Acura at 6 p.m. at her home on Savannah Highway in Ravenel when the man put something against her back and said it was a gun. He then demanded that she get into the passenger’s side of her car, while he took a seat behind the wheel and drove.

The man stopped on Hyde Park Road, officials said, where he woman tried to get out. The man grabbed her neck, but the woman broke free and fled.

The man left in her car.

Investigators are looking for a black man in his 20s or early 30s, about 5-foot-11 and 170 pounds.
