A man being sought in connection with a carjacking Monday at a mobile home park in Ravenel was apprehended early Thursday, authorities said.
Latrone Butler, 27, of Savannah Highway, is charged with failure to stop for blue lights, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, kidnapping, attempted murder and carjacking. He was being held in the Cannon Detention Center pending a bond hearing, according to the Charleston County Sheriff's Office.
About 1:10 a.m. Thursday, deputies were dispatched to a nightclub on Scott White Road for a report that Butler, who had eluded arrest for several days, was at the club. The tipster said the suspect was at the club with an Acura that had been taken during a carjacking at Jericho Mobile Home Park on Monday.
Also, deputies had arrest warrants for Butler in connection with a Dec. 1 pursuit on Savannah Highway in Ravenel involving a stolen black Ford Explorer.
Deputies found the Acura parked outside the club and took Butler into custody as he was leaving the premises.
A bond hearing held Thursday for the possession of a stolen motor vehicle and failure to stop for blue light charges resulted in bail being set at $10,000 for each charge.
A bond hearing was scheduled for tonight for the charges of carjacking, kidnapping, and attempted murder from the December 5th incident.
