CAMDEN — A Camden man was sentenced to 30 years in prison Thursday for killing a teen in a fast-food restaurant parking lot in a 2007.

The State newspaper reported that 22-year-old Markelle Reid pleaded guilty to murder in 2009 but was not sentenced until Thursday because he was cooperating with prosecutors.

Seventeen-year-old Michael Smith was shot to death in a McDonald’s parking lot in Camden.

Prosecutor Dan Johnson said Reid was involved in a fight at the restaurant before he shot Smith.
