COLUMBIA, S.C. — A South African manufacturer of products for the coal, mining and mineral aggregate industries is expanding its operations in Spartanburg County with a $12 million addition that will create 40 new jobs.
The Department of Commerce said Tuesday that Polydeck Screen Corp. has purchased four acres next to its present site in Spartanburg. The site will be a research and development lab, a tool and die site and a warehouse.
The family-owned firm makes injection mold panels from polyurethane and rubber, which are used to sort and move products produced in the coal, mining and mineral aggregate industries around the world. The firm also offers consulting and production evaluation services to its customers. The company opened its first site in South Carolina in 1978.
