The Citadel's Quinton Turner, a former Wando High standout, won the weight throw and shot put at the Kent Taylor Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Turner heaved the 35-pound weight 50 feet, 10 inches, and tossed the shot put 47-2 1/4.

Brunson Miller won the 200 meters in a school-record 21.95 seconds, while Savannah Emmrich set a school mark by winning the pole vault in 10 feet, 2 inches.

--College of Charleston's Dena O'Brien set a school record to win the 5,000 meters in 16:40.39 at the New Balance Invitational in New York. The sophomore won by six seconds.

At the Kent Taylor Invitational, Tiffany Sisk of the Cougars was fourth in the shot put at 40-5 1/2 inches.


Former Fort Dorchester standout Seiji Borja of NCAA Division II No. 2 Newberry won the 149-pound weight class at the Newberry Duals.

Borja won three bouts to win the title.
