Lake Cooper in no way rivals Marion or Moultrie in size or depth. But the canal is large enough for kayaks. And it skirts your backyard.

For tenants wanting to lease a home, the waterside attraction can be a deciding factor.
It’s worked well for LeGrand Guerry, who has rented out 698 Williamson Drive since 1995 with just two tenants splitting the 17 years.
The home is now available for rent at $1,750 a month. Lease terms are a year, he says.
Built more than 30 years ago, 698 Williamson Drive is a tri-level house with three bedrooms and two-and-a half baths. The 1,600-square-foot house has the hidden benefit of the canal in back, he says.
Meanwhile, the interior has been overhauled. “We just completely renovated it,” Guerry says. Among the upgrades was replacing the carpet with cherry-wood-style laminate floors in the living areas and installing new carpeting in the bedrooms and stair landings. The house is freshly painted, he says.
The first floor kitchen has a full set of black appliances including refrigerator, range, oven and microwave. The living and dining rooms, which have new floors, are also on the ground level. All the sleeping quarters, including the master bedroom, are on the top level.
A screened-in porch looks out on the back yard and Lake Cooper. The house also has a two-car garage.
Guerry says the house would be an attractive rental for a couple or a small family. “I would say two or three children,” says Guerry, who owns the house and leases it out for the income. “It has a nice yard.”
The property is near the center of Williamson Drive. Heading north on U.S. Highway 17 (Johnnie Dodds Boulevard) in Mount Pleasant, turn right at Houston Northcutt Boulevard and make a left onto the frontage road. Travel about a mile and turn right on Cottingham Drive. Take the first left, which is Williamson. On the right is 698 Williamson Drive.
