150 Wappoo Creek Drive, Unit 14 - Updated James Island condo yards from water showcases close-in views, multilevel interior

Unit 14 at Riverside Waterfront Villas is toward the west end of the condominium complex at 150 Wappoo Drive on James Island (Jim Parker/Staff 6-19-2014).

Tickling the Intracoastal Waterway minutes from downtown, Riverside Waterfront Villas rarely finds its handful of condos up for sale.

Residents purchase the swanky properties and hold onto them. So, on the few occasions a unit does open up, it's a big event.

"This is the first time a three bedroom, three-and-a-half bath model has come on the market in 10 years," says Dorothy Morgan, Realtor with Carolina One Real Estate and listing agent for 150 Wappoo Creek Drive, Unit 14.

The 2,050-square-foot condo, which dates to 1987, stands as one of 15 units at Riverside. It also shares a dock on Wappoo Cut.

"Most everything's redone" by the owners, Morgan says. "They take really good care (of the property)."

Wide windows open up the master bedroom, living quarters and dining room, providing brilliant sights of the waterway. "It is a great view," says Paulette Getz, who owns the condo with her husband. "That's one of the premiums," she says.

The condo sits toward the western edge of Riverside Waterfront Villas. Heading south, get on the Crosstown in Charleston and cross the Ashley River Bridge. Bear left onto Folly Road. Take Folly across the Wappoo bridge and turn right on Maybank Highway. Make a right at the traffic light to Wappoo Creek Drive. Wind around for less than a mile to the back of the neighborhood.
