The albatross is a large, web-footed seabird with slender wings. Oddly, the waterfowl name is also used for one of the rarest things in golf: a double eagle.
Shooting three under par on a single hole is not only extremely hard to do but can only happen with a hole-in-one on a par 4 and the slightly more common 2 on a par 5. It’s an incredibly good score for a golfer of any caliber.
A certain property in Hollywood could be considered a good-news albatross of real estate considering it’s on a golf course and very rare, at least according to the listing agent. This townhome also offers top-notch looks, value and one-of-a-kind location.
“It’s the only (townhome of its kind) available in West Ashley,” says Sharon Miller, Realtor-owner of Carolina Real Estate Connection.
Located in Ironwood townhomes, the two-level residence at 5284 7th Green Drive consists of three bedrooms, three full baths and a powder room. The 2,176-square-foot property lists for $295,000.
Ironwood stands removed from the entrance to the gated Stono Ferry semi-resort community in Hollywood. While there are condos west of the Ashley, recently built or well-preserved townhomes are less common.
In her listing, Miller describes the 12-year-old townhome as “like new, beautiful.”
She’s descriptive in highlighting 5284 7th Green Drive’s interior attractions.
“As you enter this lovely one owner home, you will find a large tiled entrance foyer as well as a bright kitchen with granite counter tops,” Miller says. The kitchen counts a dishwasher, electric cooktop and wall oven, built-in microwave and refrigerator.
The Realtor goes on to cite red maple cabinets, custom built shelves and a breakfast bar that opens to the living and dining rooms.
Elsewhere, the townhome showcases hardwood floors in the “spacious open living area,” she says. Moreover, the family quarters boast “a cozy gas-filtered fireplace,” recessed lighting and a private screened-in porch with views of the 5th fairway.
Another standout feature of the three-tier property with underneath garage involves the main floor master suite. The bathroom takes in a garden tub, separate shower and double vanity, while there are walk-in closets and a ceiling fan in the bedroom, she says.
According to the property listing, 5284 7th Green Drive also offers a foyer, study, laundry with washer and dryer connections, smooth 9-foot-plus ceilings, covered patio, thermal windows and doors, lawn irrigation and veneer exterior — all on a partially wooded lot.
Miller highlights the amenities at Stono Ferry, which include a championship golf course, tennis courts, equestrian center, community pool, play park and clubhouse.
She also pinpoints the townhome’s outdoorsy flavor.
“There is a lovely deck off the master suite overlooking nature and fairway,” Miller says.
The townhome stands near the edge of the Ironwood complex. Heading south and west, take U.S. Highway 17 South (Savannah Highway) to S.C. Highway 162 for Hollywood. Steer left and proceed two miles, turning left past a white fence into Stono Ferry. Make a left on 6th Tee Drive into Ironwood. Go right on 5th Fairway Drive and continue to 7th Green Drive. Ahead is 5284 7th Green Drive.
