Houston-based Stewart Title agency has tapped a chief for five Southern states including South Carolina.

Jay Reed will rejoin the company as district manager for the Southeast States District. According to Stewart Title, he will be responsible for agency operations in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi and South Carolina. Reed will report to Patrick Beall, group president of agency operations.

Reed will have an office in Boca Raton, Fla.

He started his career at Stewart Title Corpus Christi and has served in various capacities for a major underwriter, the firm says. His “extensive” background focuses on title production, agency operations and commercial services.

“We are very pleased that Jay has returned to Stewart,” Beall says. “We look forward to our associates and network of providers benefiting from his leadership and experience.”
