An agent with The Lachicotte Company Real Estate rolled out home site listings last month at Waverly Plantation, located on the Grand Strand north of Georgetown.

Teresa Cagle, a Realtor on Pawleys Island with Lachicotte Real Estate, markets nine new lots at the new Millstone at Waverly Plantation community. The one-acre lots, which include lake views, are nestled in the historic Waverly section of the Waccamaw River and Chapel Creek.

“These much-anticipated lots were completed in January and are now available for purchase,” Cagle says.  She calls it a privilege to represent properties "in this beautiful, historic land.”

Millstone at Waverly Plantation sits on 1,000 acres of land dotted with century-old live oaks, according to Cagle. Now a historic landmark, Waverly was once a large and profitable rice mill dating to the 1700s, she says. Cagle says that Waverly has been in the possession of two families, the Allstons and the Lachicottes, according to the book “Georgetown Rice Plantations,” by Alberta Morel Lachicotte,

“The vision of Millstone at Waverly Plantation is to provide nine spacious home sites for gracious, timeless Southern living with respect for the existing environment,” Cagle says. “It is the intent of the owner, Doc Lachicotte, to minimize disruption of the natural features of the property to protect these resources for future generations,” she says.

Flexible architectural guidelines are designed to minimize disruption of the property's natural features. A day dock and boat landing shared with Waverly Mills gives homeowners access to the Waccamaw River and Intracoastal Waterway, according to Cagle.
