New Leaf to build in startup community east of the Cooper

  • Updated

Upscale homes sized at 1,912-3,030 square feet and featuring three to four bedrooms will be available at the new Hamlin Corner neighborhood.

New Leaf Builders plans to craft houses in the Mount Pleasant enclave, which features "six grand lots nestled among large oak and tree canopies."

The residential construction firm says it specifically designed houses and lots to preserve nature, "which makes this location so special." Buyers can own a newly-built home without sacrificing property size or location, the venture notes.

Home designs feature a master bedroom with tiled bathroom shower, double vanity and large walk-in closet, New Leaf notes.

Individual floor plans include the Spicoli, which boasts two master bedrooms. The models also tout large open-concept kitchens on the first floor and dining and living rooms, which, depending on the plan, have access to a covered porch to "enjoy your morning cup of coffee," New Leaf says.

"Fit for a chef," the kitchen shows off granite counters, 42-inch cabinets with crown molding and stainless steel Frigidaire eStar appliances. A few of the homes incorporate a bonus room that can be used as a home office, entertainment area or playroom for families with young children.

The community's Mount Pleasant location — east of the Cooper River— offers parks, shopping, top-notch schools, scenic beaches and an "easy commute" to other places in Charleston County and surroundings. The neighborhood sits 10 minutes from the beach and quick access to Interstate 526.

Hamlin Corner houses provide energy-efficient building materials, hand-scraped hardwood floors, quality craftsmanship, customer service and a place to call home, the builder points out.

"No detail has been overlooked in this small community," New Leaf says.
