Ceilings stand 9-14 feet, white columns guard the formal dining room, floors are red oak. The house sits waterside touting a screened-in porch, broad lawn, landscaped accents, shed and fenced area for a boat.
With all these perks, what stands out is the tidy $359,900 list price. Located at 8304 Dye Makers Ridge, the property tucks between the Ashley River and Dorchester Road at the removed Indigo Fields neighborhood in upper North Charleston.
"This is the second owner," says Robin Crump of Robin Crump Realty, affiliated with Brand Name Real Estate. The residence, she says, is "very meticulous."
The house measures 2,370 square feet. "To me it lives a lot larger," Crump says. "My idea of the buyer is someone with a new family. There is a FROG (finished room over the garage)," Crump says. "Or, retired people. It's all on one floor."
Built in 2003, the ranch-style home includes three bedrooms, two full baths and a finished room over the garage. The large upstairs room can be a recreation center. "If you have kids, it can be a playroom," she says. A closet can be remade as a half-bath, since it's directly above the laundry room. The space can be converted to a sleeping area: the Realtor lists the house as a four bedroom. The master suite sits on one wing of the house, showing off a tiled bathroom with over-sized shower, separate garden tub and large walk-in closet. Two more bedrooms are at the opposite end of the house for privacy.
A towering barreled ceiling sets off the entrance to the house, opening to a great room complete with plenty of windows. "Everybody loves natural light," she says. To the left of the foyer is a substantial space for holiday meals and special occasions. "I think dining rooms are coming back," Crump says. The gourmet kitchen connects to the formal eating room and encompasses a dinette. Stainless steel appliances including two convection ovens and a gas stove mark the culinary center, which also boasts a walk-in pantry and counter for a bar.
Off the kitchen stands the washer and dryer locale, which includes a door to the two-car garage.
Outside, the rear screened-in porch leads to a deck and gazebo, which she says can be redesigned as an outdoor kitchen. Oaks highlight the backyard, which leads to the neighborhood pond. The well-organized shed has electricity. Beside it is a wooden fence that opens to park a trailer or watercraft. "(The owners) spared no expense," she says.
The house sits in the neighborhood's Indigo on the Ashley section, which has its own homeowners association. Fees are $160 a year. An alluring amenity will be the city of North Charleston's new swimming pool complex to be built a couple of miles away, Crump says.
"If someone is looking at Boeing, all those (manufacturing) guys, it's perfect," she says.
The house went on the market a couple of weeks ago. "The price is right," Crump says.
