A group involved in sustainable construction techniques will host an up-close look at Charleston’s best-known new building.

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) South Carolina will tour the Charleston Gaillard Center from noon to 2 p.m. April 29.

According to the state council chapter, the tour will start with “a short presentation on sustainability.” There also will be boxed lunches. The walk-through of the Gaillard Center will emphasize sustainability aspects, green building and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification details of the redeveloped center.

The tour is $20 for USGBC South Carolina members, $25 for nonmembers and $15 for students. The price includes lunch.
